Right around 2000, I did a lot of commercial print designs. From paper companies that wanted me to have y clients use their beautiful paper, I used to get tons of paper samples for free. But after 9/11, which affected for a short time businesses and some paper and print companies, the free papers stopped, and many companies and most of my clients went over to websites instead.
And that is how I switched to web design and production. I had received training starting in 1999 in web design, which I felt very comfortable with. So much easier to correct a mistake in a website, compared to thousands of printed papers that could not be fixed….
