Since ancient times,
the real meaning of labor has been
the labor to create oneself.
That what constitues each person
– the raw materials of our physical, emotional, mental, spiritual being –
must be shaped so that we become our “ideal image:”
the best that we can be.
This labor takes the efforts of a forger,
and out of the raw materials,
symbolized by the rough earth,
we create ourselves.
